The Telluride Horror Show is back for its fifteenth edition, and the official lineup is absolutely bonkers. Bringing in some of the best and brightest in contemporary horror, the festival in the mountains of Colorado is set to kick off next week, and we now have a better look at exactly what’s going to be screening for fans who are making their way out west.
The festival is highlighted by screenings of highly anticipated films like The Rule of Jenny Pen, starring Geoffrey Rush and John Lithgow, Daddy’s Head, Dead Talents’ Society, and Jimmy & Stiggs, among many other titles. It’ll also feature the North American premiere of the Irish film Fréwaka, and a screening of Get Away, written by Nick Frost and co-starring comedian Aisling Bea. There’ll also be a handful of special presentations, including a screening of the 1986 colorized version of George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead, as well as Steven Soderbergh’s Presence closing out the festival courtesy of NEON, and Patrick Brice bringing the first three episodes of The Creep Tapes to the festival and after they were received by a rave crowd at Fantastic Fest’s final secret screening.
But it’s not just about the full-length films: they’ve also got a killer set of shorts ready to be screened. Split into five blocks, including “Bumps in the Night,” “Spellbound,” “Squirm,” “Uncanny Tales,” and “Vault of Humor,” the festival will be hosting forty shorts from around the world, as well as a couple of US and world premieres, including Off Cuts, Mr. Sunshine, and Masks.
They’ve also got a handful of special guests who’ll be present at the festival. Jon Davison, producer of Starship Troopers and RoboCop, will be showing a variety of films on 16mm at the WIlkinson Public Library as the festival’s Vault Keeper, and they’ve also got a hell of a list of guest authors attending for various engagements, including Rachel Harrison, Grady Hendrix, Jeremy Robert Johnson, Stephen Graham Jones, Daniel Kraus, and Paul Tremblay. All will be available for conversations and book signings, as well as appearing at Telluride’s popular Creepy Campfire Tales, where they’ll share excerpts from their work at the beloved opening night tradition.
The Telluride Horror Show’s fifteenth edition will run from October 11-13 in Telluride, Colorado. Passes can be purchased at the festival’s website, where you can find more info about the festival’s events and screenings, and you can check out the full film lineup below:
