28 YEARS LATER Gets A Metal AF New Poster

The first in a brand new post-apocalyptic horror trilogy hits theaters on June 20.

Danny Boyle's long-awaited 28 Years Later gets a gnarly new poster today that makes good on the film's tagline – evidently, time didn't heal anything.

Written by original 28 Days Later scribe Alex Garland, the long-awaited follow-up to both 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later is set to kickstart a brand new trilogy, and hits theaters on June 20.

Starring Ralph Fiennes, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, Jack O'Connell and Erin Kellyman, 28 Years Later follows the fallout of a rage virus which destroyed Britain almost three decades prior:

It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected […] One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway.

When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.

28 Days Later star Cillian Murphy is also set to return to his role as Jim, as well coming onboard as executive producer, but not in 28 Years Later.

As previously reported, the second movie into the trilogy, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, is directed by Nia DaCosta (Candyman), and will follow six months after 28 Years Later. Boyle is also onboard to direct the third as-of-now untitled movie.

The aforementioned bone temple seems to be the subject of today's brand new poster which is, to be frank, metal AF. Check it out below and for more on 28 Years Later keep an eye on FANGORIA.
