Silent Hill director Christophe Gans returns for another adaptation of Konami's iconic video game series with the long-awaited Return to Silent Hill, which finally has its first official teaser.

Hitting theaters on January 23, 2026 via Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting, as opposed to Gans' 2006 Silent Hill, which blended elements from the first three games, Return to Silent Hill  is directly based on Konami's 2001 game Silent Hill 2 (recently remade by Bloober Team).

Starring Jeremy Irvine (The Woman in Black: Angel of Death) and Jigsaw‘s Hannah Emily Anderson, Return to Silent Hill was written by Gans, Sandra Vo-Anh, and Will Schneider, and follows:

“James (Irvine), a man broken after being separated from his one true love (Anderson). When a mysterious letter calls him back to Silent Hill in search of her, he finds a once-recognizable town transformed by an unknown evil. As James descends deeper into the darkness, he encounters terrifying figures both familiar and new and begins to question his own sanity as he struggles to make sense of reality and hold on long enough to save his lost love.”

As anyone who's played Konami's 2001 survival horror game can attest, iconic villain Pyramid Head will of course be playing a key role in Return to Silent Hill, and can be seen terrorizing James in the new teaser below.
