It wouldn't be an Osgood Perkins movie without a mysterious marketing campaign from NEON, with today bringing a terrifying new trailer ahead of Keeper's theatrical release on November 14 that reveals what modern horror masters Guillermo del Toro, James Wan and Damien Leone have to say about the Longlegs director's latest.

Keeper reunites Perkins with The Monkey star Tatiana Maslany, and also stars Possessor‘s Rossif Sutherland. Written by Nick Lepard (Dangerous Animals), the pic follows a couple as they escape for a romantic anniversary weekend at a secluded cabin:

When Malcolm (Sutherland) suddenly returns to the city, Liz (Maslany) finds herself isolated and in the presence of an unspeakable evil that unveils the cabin’s horrifying secrets.

Keeper sees Perkins back with NEON as part of his first-look deal with the genre giant, having launched a new banner, Phobos,  alongside Chris Ferguson. Under the deal, NEON will serve as the home for Perkins’ projects, which he and Ferguson will produce. It will also allow Perkins and Ferguson to produce other filmmakers’ movies for NEON, who will release these projects theatrically in the United States and represent international rights.

As mentioned, NEON is keeping it super vague with the marketing for Perkins' latest (clearly hoping the Longlegs approach will pay off – as are we!), and while Keeper‘s plot remains a mystery, we do know that Perkins and Maslany have teased some of the film's “disgusting” themes which may help us piece together the clues of what fresh hell we're dealing with here. Reporting from our sneak peek at Keeper earlier this week, Fango's Angel Melanson revealed that Perkins considers Keeper as being based upon the concept of being “afraid of people”:

“People with bad intentions, sure, but also the person you share a bed with or no longer share a bed with. Ultimately, it centers on the duality that is both the fear and desire of being known and knowing. These notions of unease around the people in our lives, the people we are intimate with, is the framework of this movie.”

Today's new trailer does seem to reveal some sort of creatures (?) stalking Maslany and Sutherland in their cabin, that final shot in particular being a big fat NOPE. Check out the trailer below and see if you can figure out just WTF is happening in Keeper:
