Kanopy's selection is really quite impressive, and it is a fully functional option for those who don't want to pay for another service.
Tubi is back with another solid list of fright films for the start of 2026. With 20 repertory movies to ease you into a new year, they are doing well. Tubi is a streaming service that has a truly mindboggling depth of catalog titles. While you are perusing the list of January movies, it's always a great time to check out what they have available that no one else does. You are guaranteed to find some films that you have never seen before. It is your choice if you want to sign up for an account, but it's not strictly necessary to do so unless you want to save your progress with the movies that you stream.

THE CRAZIES ( Credit: IMDB) Tubi's selections have bloody horror comedies, gory tales of terror, and a mainstream horror film from director Robert Zemeckis. If you have become a fan of Osgood Perkins in the last two years and you want to explore his other films, this month the streamer has Perkins' debut feature, the supernatural psychological horror film The Blackcoat’s Daughter. Other highlights are the terrifying remake of the George Romero film, The Crazies, Fede Álvarez's gruesome remake of Evil Dead, which revitalized the franchise, and Danny and Michael Philippou's first “party film”, Talk To Me, that nonetheless has a deeply disturbing emotional core.
While there is such brutal violence and viscera among many of the movies on Tubi's service for the first month of 2026, there's also the elegant ghost story from Robert Zemeckis that stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Harrison Ford. It's a well-rounded selection from Tubi that also includes a scene with one of those megastars being possessed. Who could say no to that?
