The truth is out there, and it's getting closer, as Universal Pictures has unveiled a new trailer for Steven Spielberg's sci-fi thriller Disclosure Day, invading theaters and IMAX on June 12. Check it out:

Based on a story by Spielberg with a screenplay from Jurassic Park‘s David Koepp, Disclosure Day stars a powerhouse cast that includes Emily Blunt (A Quiet Place), Josh O'Connor (Challengers), Colman Domingo (The Running Man), Colin Firth (Kingsman), Eve Hewson (The Perfect Couple) and Wyatt Russell (Monarch: Legacy of Monsters).
An official logline for Disclosure Day reads:
If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We are coming close to … Disclosure Day.
Today's final trailer gives us our first look at the extraterrestrial lifeforms, with the legendary director himself appearing to seemingly tease he knows something about aliens that we don't:
“I used to say to myself, wouldn’t it be wonderful if all of this turned out to be true. I’m now thinking, wouldn’t it be wonderful for people to know… all of this IS true.”
Disclosure Day marks the 37th entry into Spielberg's vast filmography, one that has cumulatively racked up over $10 billion worldwide. The Hollywood titan has of course dabbled many times in the science-fiction genre before, most notably with 1977's Close Encounters of the Third Kind, 1982's E.T., 2001's A.I. Artificial Intelligence and 2005's War of the Worlds, to name but a few.
Producers on the highly-ancipated sci-fi thriller are five-time Academy Award nominee Kristie Macosko Krieger (The Fabelmans, West Side Story), by Spielberg for Amblin Entertainment, and Adam Somner and Chris Brigham executive producing.
