Well, everybody guessed it, and now it’s here: Sinners is coming to Halloween Horror Nights. Universal Studios announced that the Oscar-winning film will be the theme of the first announced house for this year’s event, and will run at both their Orlando and Hollywood parks, so fans on both coasts can get in on the gory action.

The new house will allow guests to step into the world of the film, back to the Mississippi Delta of the 1930s and into Smoke and Stack’s juke joint. There, they’ll run into Remmick and his gang, forcing them to survive the night alongside characters from the film like Sammie, Mary, Annie, Pearline, and Cornbread — and God only knows who’ll make it out alive.

“It’s been incredible to see audiences connect with Sinners in such a powerful way,” said Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler, and Sev Ohanian in a joint statement. “Now, partnering with Halloween Horror Nights gives fans the chance to step even deeper into the world of the film — to feel the music, the atmosphere and the tension all around them. Watching it come to life on this scale has been really special for all of us.”

The Sinners house is the first official themed house to be announced for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights, after this year’s icons were revealed for the event’s landmark thirty-fifth anniversary. Smoke and Stack will terrify guests alongside Jack the Clown and Oddfellow, two returning figures with their own house, Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control. Other houses have yet to be announced, but if Sinners is just the first out of the gate, we can’t imagine what else they’ve got in store.

“The moment Sinners premiered, we knew it was an undeniable fit for Halloween Horror Nights and it’s an honor to bring this story to life,” said Universal Orlando’s Mike Aiello. “It’s rare for a film to fully satisfy hardcore horror fans while also inviting new audiences into the genre—and that’s exactly what Sinners does. Its world, characters and intensity will translate into a relentless haunted house. We can;’s wait for our fans to step inside and experience the horror firsthand in a way that only Halloween Horror Nights can deliver.”

Halloween Horror Nights runs from August 28 through November 1 in Orlando, and from September 3 through November 1 in Hollywood. For information, and to purchase tickets and Horror Nights themed merch, you can check out Universal’s website.
