For those of you that miss the low-resolution video games of the ‘90s and 2000s that let you battle, explore, and roleplay to your heart’s content, you’ll want to keep an eye on Lovely Hellplace’s newest game. They’ve just released the trailer for Entropy, their new dark fantasy RPG game that’ll give you all kinds of nostalgia when it hits Steam this summer.
Entropy, which has a demo available now on Steam, is a “low-poly, PSX-style” role-playing game set in a post-apocalyptic world where players use turn-based combat to guide their team of mercenaries through a withering world. The game’s synopsis is as follows:
In this dying age, only pockets of humanity remain. There was no pivotal apocalyptic event to speak of; only the cruel march of time and the inexplicable infertility of the world. Accursed creatures stalk the barren lands between settlements, which are themselves terrible places; squalid, medieval and mostly ruled by tyrants.

Control your party of up to six unique but forgettable mercenaries – they are there to serve you in combat, after all. Each mercenary joins your party with their own talents (and preexisting injuries), as you embark on a quest across the poisoned lands to stop a wicked demonic incursion.
Players can explore the dying world to discover strange creatures, unique characters, and skill-testing challenges, all while earning treasure that they can spend on items and use to hire mercenaries to replace fallen party members, which in turn unlocks new and unique perks unlike any game you’ve seen before.
Entropy joins a vast collection of games released by Lovely Hellplace, including similar low-res RPG games like Dread Delusion and Shatter, alongside a line of comics including Digital Ghost, Waste, and Brighton’s Graphic War. Entropy hits Steam early access on August 18, with a demo available to play now.
