The legendary Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I Know What You Did Last Summer) is sinking her teeth into another sure-to-be iconic horror role as she stars as the Grim Reaper in Thud, an upcoming supernatural-romance from director Mali Elfman (Next Exit).
Gellar will star alongside Rudy Pankow (Outer Banks) who’ll be playing the equally incredible role of Satan himself.
Per Deadline, Thud is based on an original screenplay by Noga Pnueli (Meet Cute), and sees the Grim Reaper and the Devil meet cute at a three-day destination wedding, falling in love after colliding at the event, where they’ve each come to sow their own chaos.
Thud will see Gellar reteam with Radio Silence‘s Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin following Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, as the pair serve as executive producers on the project, alongside Helmstreet Productions’ Lindsay Helms and Joel Nevells, and Divide/Conquer‘s Greg Gilreath and Adam Hendricks. Derek Bishé and David Grove Churchill Viste produce.
It’s hard for us to be more sold on Thud. Stay tuned for more as we get it.
