Just a few days after the first teaser for the show was released, it looks like the Norman Reedus-starring The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon might see the return of one of the series' beloved characters. As the fall 2023 premiere for the AMC show draws nearer, The Walking Dead: Dead City star Jeffrey Dean Morgan took to Twitter to tease the return of Melissa McBride as fan favorite Carol Peletier
Last year, it was announced that McBride would no longer be part of the show due to production in Europe being ‘logistically untenable' for the actress. However, Morgan's Tweet suggests logistics might have changed. The Tweet (seen below) reads: “Well well. We’re sorry Norman… fer talking oodles of shit to you when we thought melissa wasn’t doing show! Golly… this must of been in the works for ages! (Twas from start) Goddamn it’s great seeing these two together!”
According to Deadline, a spokesperson for the show would not comment.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon takes the zombie apocalypse series overseas, with the full plot synopsis reading:
“Set after the series conclusion of TWD, the Reedus-led offshoot finds the zombie apocalypse fan favorite transported across the Atlantic to France and a whole new level of a world gone mad. Poesy will play the female lead Isabelle, a member of a progressive religious group, who joins forces with Daryl on a journey across France and finds herself confronting her dark past in Paris. Nagaitis protrays Quinn, a displaced Brit who has become powerful in post-apocalyptic Paris as a black marketeer and the owner of the Demimonde, a sexy underground nightclub.”
Alongside Reedus and potentially McBride, Daryl Dixon also stars Clémence Poésy (The Essex Serpent), Adam Nagaitis (Chernobyl), Anne Charrier (The Last Deadly Mission), Eriq Ebanouey (Fox Hunt), Laika Blanc Francard (My Night), Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, and Romain Levi (The Tunnel).
The six episodes of the first season were written by showrunner David Zabel, Jason Richman & David Zabel, Coline Abert, Shannon Goss, Jason Richman & David Zabel, and Laura Snow & Jason Richman, respectively.
Stay tuned for more updates on The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon as they roll in!
