This year has been quite good to horror fans in terms of excellent new horror movie releases. We already have a contender for the end of year best kill list, and an entry for possible inclusion on the best horror movies of 2025 list, and that's just considering the horror movies in theaters at the early part of this year. Not too shabby, horror fans!
This weekend, the Philippou brothers (the duo behind Talk To Me) are back to make you feel real bad with their latest, Bring Her Back. This is by far one of the most anticipated horror movies of 2025, and it does not disappoint.
Final Destination Bloodlines is hanging tough, causing people to side-eye pennies in the wild and keeping busy by becoming the biggest Final Destination movie ever. Ryan Coogler's vampire horror Sinners is still going strong, breaking records. We have nothing but wonderful things to say about it.
And in select areas you can still catch some killer clown action on the big screen, courtesy of Clown In A Cornfield.
For more, check out our full list of all the new horror movies coming our way in 2025.
Hold onto your popcorn buckets, here are all the horror movies in theaters right now.

Bring Her Back
Bring Her Back (2025). The Talk To Me filmmakers' follow-up is an uncomfortably accurate portrayal of grief and love. The directing duo of Danny and Michael Philippou do not shy away from agonizingly heavy material. Nobody will accuse these guys of making feel-good fare any time soon; instead, they opt for hauntingly beautiful work that follows you home and sticks to your insides like tar.
Like its predecessor, Bring Her Back leans into the possession genre, with the brothers describing it as something that feels like “a spiritual successor” to Talk To Me. A word to the wise: don't make any sort of social plans for after the movie. You're gonna need a moment.
Check out our interview with Danny and Michael Philippou and the Bring Her Back cast if you need a palate cleanser.
Final Destination Bloodlines

Don't miss this one on the big screen, it's taking the franchise back to its roots, providing some interesting lore for a family in peril and a fan favorite legacy character.
Sinners
Ryan Coogler's latest is a whole ass event. It's a work of art. You may have a spiritual experience. Fango's BJ Colangelo calls it “a sweaty, sexy, blood-soaked success” (read the full review here). Michael B. Jordan stars in a dual role as twin brothers Smoke and Stack, who have returned to their hometown in the Jim Crow-era South to open up a juke joint after hitting it big in Chicago. Vampires enter the mix, but in Jim Crow era Mississippi that may be the least of their problems.
Hurry Up Tomorrow
The Weeknd has made a habit of creating elaborate horror-infused music videos (see FANGORIA #16). This time he’s made a whole damn movie as a companion piece to his upcoming Hurry Up Tomorrow album. Jenna Ortega stars alongside The Weeknd in this psychological thriller directed by Trey Edward Shults.
Clown In A Cornfield
CLOWN IN A CORNFIELD (Credit: Shudder) Tucker & Dale vs. Evil director Eli Craig gives his big screen adaptation of Adam Cesare’s hit book a horror comedy twist. Clown In A Cornfield is a very fun teen slasher, but at its core, it also deals with deeper themes of what can happen when people feel overlooked or forgotten. It’s a worst case scenario punctuated by fun kills and a solid teen slasher backdrop.
Sister Midnight
Karan Kandhari’s debut feature won Best Picture in the Next Wave Features category. Described as “A genre-bending comedy about a frustrated and misanthropic newlywed who discovers certain feral impulses that land her in unlikely situations.”
