If you value physical media as much as we at FANGORIA do, we’ve got great news for you: JT Mollner’s hit thriller Strange Darling will soon be available on both DVD and Blu-ray, as well as a special 4K collector’s edition. The copies drop starting in November, the perfect Christmas present for anyone looking for a little Kyle Gallner in their lives.
The Blu-ray and DVD version, hitting shelves on November 5, will feature no special features, but the 4K collector’s edition, currently available for pre-order as a region-free DVD exclusive to the UK, will include four collectable art cards, behind the scenes interviews with the cast and crew of the film, original TV spots and trailers for the film, and an A3-sized poster, all in special O-ring packaging. The latter will hit shelves on December 2.
Starring Reacher’s Willa Fitzgerald and scream king Gallner, the Mollner-directed film follows the nonlinear tale of a man and woman who meet up for a one night stand, only for it to devolve into a cat and mouse game of murder, the last hurrah (for lack of a better word) of a prolific serial killer. The film, which also stars Barbara Hershey and Ed Begley Jr., notably features cinematography by Giovani Ribisi, better known for his acting work in projects like Saving Private Ryan and Avatar, making his debut as a cinematographer to much acclaim.
The film premiered to rave reviews at last year’s Fantastic Fest before receiving a limited release this year, and is now available on digital and on demand. But Strange Darling isn’t star Gallner’s only outing at the horror box office this year. He also stars in the highly anticipated sequel Smile 2, alongside Naomi Scott and Rosemarie DeWitt as they battle the same otherworldly creature that saw Sosie Bacon meet a grisly fate in the 2022 original.
Strange Darling is available to preorder on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K now.
