Last night saw the star-studded 31st annual SAG Awards take place in Los Angeles, with horror – rightfully – at its heart.
Among the many deserving wins, The Substance star Demi Moore took home the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for her turn as Elisabeth Sparkle in Coralie Fargeat's satirical body horror. Moore has already taken home the Golden Globe for her role as Sparkle, making her chances at next week's Oscar ceremony particularly high.
Earlier in the night, before taking to the stage to present the Male Actor in a Limited Series award, horror legend Jamie Lee Curtis was preceded by an homage to some of Hollywood's most iconic Scream Queens.
Edited by Erick Lorinc, who also edited last year's FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards, the Scream Queens tribute saw input from iconic final girls Curtis (Halloween's Laurie Strode) and Neve Campbell (Scream‘s Sidney Prescott), as well as scream queen for the new generation Jenna Ortega (X, Scream, Wednesday).
The tribute also included clips of Heather Langenkamp, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elvira, Mia Goth, Keke Palmer (who was fully on theme in a vintage Chanel dress once worn by Curtis herself), Fango fave Barbara Crampton, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Linda Blair and many more iconic women who have made horror what it is today.
