Ahead of its March 13 debut, Hulu has debuted the official trailer and key art for Hulu Original horror Control Freak, in which star Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi) is plagued by a parasitic demon.
Directed and written by Shal Ngo (The Park, The Box), Control Freak follows motivational speaker Valerie (Tran) who is tormented by an unrelenting itch on the back of her head, which eventually leads into a terrifying journey as she battles the aforementioned bodily invader from her homeland. The film initially started life as a short by Ngo titled Control, which featured in the second season of Hulu’s Bite Size Halloween.
Starring alongside Tran in Control Freak are Miles Robbins (Daniel Isn't Real, Y2K) as Valerie's husband Robbie, Toan Le (The Sympathizer) as Valerie's father and Kieu Chinh (The Joy Luck Club) as Aunt Thuy.
Control Freak is produced by David Brooks, Arbi Pedrossian and Jenna Cavelle, with Shaum S. Sengupta and Miles Alva as executive producers, and Hatuey Rodriguez as co-producer.
