Cookie Cutter, the hyper-gory dystopian 2D Metroidvania hit from Rogue Games, hits the Nintendo Switch this spring, as the Overkill Edition brings updates and upgrades to the award-winning game.
Developed by Subcult Joint LTD, the PAX West and NYX award-winning Cookie Cutter was originally released back in 2023. Players punch, stab, slice, and maul enemies as Cherry, a take-no-prisoners fembot trying to survive a twisted planet on the brink of destruction.
Cookie Cutter’s highly anticipated and requested release for the Nintendo Switch will feature an array of features, enhancements and improvements to both its gameplay and story, reading as follows:
- Fully voiced dialogue for every character in the game.
- New map features including the ability to gauge completion status.
- Brand new special moves and upgrades for Cherry.
- New cinematics adding more style and background to the story.
- Tons of gameplay tweaks and progression balancing.
- Nintendo Switch-specific easter eggs.
- Hidden game mode where you discuss your problems with the enemy instead of resorting to violence. -(Just kidding.)
Here's what Rogue CEO Matt Casamassina has to say of the upcoming Overkill Edition:
“We’ve been blown away by the positive response to Cookie Cutter and we’re very excited to be releasing the Overkill Edition for the Nintendo Switch […] All of the new content, features and enhancements provide an even richer gaming experience.”
Cookie Cutter: Overkill Edition will be unleashed for the Nintendo Switch this spring. It is currently available for Sony® PlayStation 4/5®, Microsoft® Xbox Series X/S®, and Steam.
