If you're heading to the theater to see Flying Lotus' psychedelic sci-fi horror Ash this weekend, you'll get a new glimpse of your good pal Frendo, as a new trailer for Eli Craig's slasher Clown in a Cornfield is set to open on March 21.
Based on Adam Cesare’s Bram Stoker Award-winning novel of the same name, Clown in a Cornfield stars Katie Douglas, Carson MacCormac, Aaron Abrams, Will Sasso, and Kevin Durand.
In Clown in a Cornfield:
Quinn and her father have just moved to the quiet town of Kettle Springs hoping for a fresh start. Instead, she discovers a fractured community that has fallen on hard times after the treasured Baypen Corn Syrup Factory burned down. As the locals bicker amongst themselves and tensions boil over, a sinister, grinning figure emerges from the cornfields to cleanse the town of its burdens, one bloody victim at a time. Welcome to Kettle Springs. The real fun starts when Frendo the clown comes out to play.
Clown in a Cornfield has its wide theatrical release on May 9 via RLJE Films and Shudder.
RLJE Films and Shudder are also behind Ash, which stars Eiza González and Aaron Paul as astronauts trying to survive “an ordeal of psychological and physical terror” on the mysterious eponymous planet.
For a fresh look at Frendo, don't miss Ash in theaters this weekend, and for more Clown in a Cornfield, make sure to grab the next issue of FANGORIA, in which Adam Cesare visits the set, and reports on the surreal experience of watching his own creation be adapted to film.
