Following another Osgood Perkins box office bloodbath, NEON has set home entertainment release dates for The Monkey, with the horror comedy heading to Digital from tomorrow, April 4.
For physical media fans, a 4K Ultra HD/Blu-Ray Combo, Blu-Ray, and DVD release of The Monkey will follow on June 24, which will sit nicely on your shelf next to NEON's replica of the titular terrifying toy, should you be lucky enough to have given it a home.
Based on a Stephen King short of the same name included in his 1985 collection Skeleton Crew, The Monkey stars Theo James (The White Lotus) as twin brothers whose lives are turned upside down by a cursed toy monkey that causes random horrific deaths around them.
Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Elijah Wood (Maniac, The Lord Of The Rings, Bookworm), Christian Convery (Sweet Tooth), Colin O’Brien (Wonka), Rohan Campbell (Halloween Ends) and Sarah Levy (Schitt’s Creek) also star.
Perkins' follow-up to 2023 hit Longlegs fared similarly well at the box office, racking up $63.5 million from a $10-11 million budget. His next feature, the mysterious Keeper, is also set to star Tatiana Maslany, and will, unsurprisingly, also be distributed by NEON for an October 3 theatrical release.
The Monkey will be available on all digital platforms to own or rent tomorrow.
