Charli XCX Teaming Up With Takashi Miike For New Feature

The Grammy-award winner will produce and star in the next project from the AUDITION maestro.
Charli xcx's CRASH (2022)

Yes, you read that right – brat superstar Charli xcx is set to produce and star in a new feature from Japanese genre maestro Takashi Miike (Audition, Ichi the Killer, One Missed Call).

Reporting the news earlier today, Variety reveal that plot details for the mysterious pic are under wraps, and that Ross Evans (How to Save a Marriage) is handling the screenplay. xcx produces through her newly-founded Studio365 banner.

As of now, there's no indication that the xcx/Miike project will be a horror or genre pic, but given Miike's proclivity towards extreme violence and disturbing content (this is the man who made Visitor Q, after all), we can certainly hope for the best.

Speaking of gore, xcx is also set to star in the upcoming Faces of Death remake from Isa Mazzei and Daniel Goldhaber, in what is shaping up to be a very interesting filmography for the Grammy-award winner. She also promised an upcoming ‘Cronenberg Summer' at a recent show, as well as shouting out other prolific genre filmmakers.

Needless to say we'll be watching this intriguing combination with great interest and, should it turn out to be a new Miike horror hit, we'll bring you all the updates as we get them.
