Ahead of Ethan Embry’s appearance in the upcoming legacy sequel Scream 7, he’s taking on a totally different kind of killer from Ghostface. FANGORIA is excited to present an exclusive clip from Republic Pictures’ new psychological thriller Alma & the Wolf, which hits digital this month and pits Embry against something much more supernatural than a man in a mask.
Alma & the Wolf stars Sinners’ Li Jun Li alongside Empire Records star Embry, and follows the former as Deputy Ren Accord, a small-town sheriff whose son vanishes in the woods just outside town. As the search for the young boy mounts, paranoia takes root and reality begins to fracture as things go awry far quicker than anyone can handle.
Our exclusive clip features Embry alongside co-star Kevin Allison as Officer Stanton, both panicking as they’re backed into a corner, a paranormal monster on the other side of a locked door. While Stanton is sure he’s not going to make it out, he urges Ren to escape via the building’s air ducts, offering cover as he finally loses the last of his sanity.
Directed by Michael Patrick Jann from a script by Abigail Miller, Alma & the Wolf also stars Jeremie Harris, Lukas Jann, Beth Malone, Kevin Allison, Alexandra Doke, and Mather Zickel. The film is produced by Jann alongside David Codron and Eric Binns, and marks Ethan Embry’s first horror film since 2015’s The Devil’s Candy, directed by Sean Byrne, whose shark-obsessed serial killer film Dangerous Animals hits theaters this Friday.
Alma & the Wolf hits digital on June 20. Check out the exclusive clip below:
