Ahead of the June 20 release of Danny Boyle's long-awaited 28 Years Later, Pluto TV is going back to the start of the apocalyptic saga by streaming 28 Days Later all month long, for free.
Released in 2002, 28 Days Later marked the breakout role of now-Oscar winner Cillian Murphy as bicycle courier Jim, who wakes up from a coma only to find the city of London (and the rest of the UK) ravaged by a deadly rage virus that has turned most of the population into feral zombie-like beasts.
As fans of the zombie (technically infected) horror will know, 28 Days Later was, for many years, very difficult to watch via any legitimate means. Rights issues meant that the film was nowhere to be found on streaming or Digital services (Disney-owned ones, at least), and past Blu-ray releases of the film were subject to online scalpers jacking the prices up.
With 28 Years Later freshly announced, in December, the film finally became available for purchase and rental – but free is always better, right?
