Following today's reveal that Return to Silent Hill finally has a release date, another Cineverse acquisition has also confirmed its big screen release date, with the extra exciting addition that the Silent Night, Deadly Night reboot will slice into theaters unrated via Iconic Events.

Per our friends at Bloody Disgusting, the reimagining of the 1984 cult classic from Wrong Turn‘s Mike P. Nelson hits screens on December 12, just in time for the festive season.

Starring Rohan Campbell (Halloween Ends, The Monkey) as killer Billy Chapman and  Happy Death Day star Ruby Modine who'll be playing Billy's love interest, Pamela, the Silent Night, Deadly Night reboot:

“…centers on a young boy who witnesses the murder of his parents at the hands of a man dressed as Santa, only to grow up and become a killer himself. Haunted by trauma and fueled by a twisted sense of justice, he puts on the Santa suit and punishes the naughty. Blending psychological horror, brutal slasher thrills and a touch of the supernatural and, shockingly, a sprinkle of romance, the new film hopes to deliver a modern new take on the ultimate holiday nightmare.”

Scott J. Schneid and Dennis Whitehead, executive producers of Charles Sellier Jr.'s 1984 original Silent Night, Deadly Night are producing, with Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting releasing the reboot into U.S. theaters on December 12.

Terrifier 3‘s Brandon Hill and Brad Miska will oversee Silent Night, Deadly Night for Cineverse and will executive produce alongside Erick Opeka and Yolanda Macias, Bondit Media Capital’s Matthew Helderman and Luke Taylor.

If the success of Cineverse's Terrifier 3 is anything to go by, audiences are hungry for more holiday horror – especially when it's unrated. Look out for more Silent Night, Deadly Night updates as we get 'em!
