For those of you who didn’t get a chance to check out Christopher Landon’s Drop in theaters, we’ve got great news: the Meghann Fahy and Brandon Sklenar-led first-date thriller is coming to Peacock on July 11. The news of its arrival on streaming comes almost two months after the film arrived on digital, meaning audiences who haven’t been willing to drop — no pun intended — a number of their hard-earned dollars on the Blumhouse joint can finally check it out.

Drop also stars Violett Beane, Jacob Robinson, Reed Diamond, Gabrielle Ryan, Jeffrey Self, Ed Weeks, and Travis Nelson. The full synopsis for the film is as follows.

Emmy nominee Meghann Fahy, breakout star of White Lotus and The Perfect Couple, plays Violet, a widowed mother on her first date in years, who arrives at an upscale restaurant where she is relieved that her date, Henry (It Ends with Us’ Brandon Sklenar) is more charming and handsome than she expected. But their chemistry begins to curdle as Violet begins being irritated and then terrorized by a series of anonymous drops to her phone.

She is instructed to tell nobody and follow instructions or the hooded figure she sees on her home security cameras will kill Violet’s young son and babysitting sister. Violet must do exactly as directed or everyone she loves will die. Her unseen tormentor’s final directive? Kill Henry.

Written by Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach, the Blumhouse film is Landon’s first directorial effort We Have a Ghost, starring Stranger Things’ David Harbour and Anthony Mackie. It’s also his first film to hit theaters after he exited the troubled Scream 7, which he was initially set to direct. The film is produced by Jason Blum, Brad and Cameron Fuller, and Michael Bay, of all people.

Drop arrives on Peacock on July 11.
