If you’re afraid of clowns, look away now, because FANGORIA is excited to debut the trailer for Helloween, an all-new chiller thriller that throw things back to the killer clown craze of 2016, when — if you’re like this author and live in the middle of nowhere — you couldn’t leave your house at night for fear of being accosted by a stranger in a terrifying circus costume.
Written and directed by Phil Claydon, Helloween stars Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott, Michael Paré, and Ronan Summers, and is produced by Shogun Films. The film’s synopsis is as follows:
The year is 2016 and the ‘killer clown’ craze is in full swing, there’s chaos on the streets and the media is having a field day with fearmongering headlines for the masses, making matters uncontrollable. But there’s one person who has very real concerns, embattled psychiatrist Dr Ellen Marks, who works in a high security psychiatric hospital that houses one seriously violent psychopath…notorious child serial killer Carl Cane.
Determined to uncover the cause of the anarchistic clown uprising, Marks teams up with American investigative journalist John Parker to try and get to the bottom of the caustic clown contagion, but she soon realizes it’s closer to home than she ever feared possible.
As Carl Cane’s evil gospel spreads across the nation, and the pair start to question whether the murderous inmate could really be orchestrating events from deep in the bowels of the hospital, the deranged killer escapes in shockingly brutal fashion. Now the doctor must face her very worst fears in a race against time to save her daughters from the killer’s maniacal revenge.
In addition to its chilling theatrical release, Helloween will also receive a special Blu-ray release on October 13, featuring deleted scenes, a making of featurette, and a commentary with Claydon, as well as this very trailer.
Helloween hits theaters in the UK on September 29, and in the US on September 5. Check out the exclusive trailer below:
