Amber Midthunder Would “Love To” Return For A PREY Sequel

Dan Trachtenberg' standalone entry in the PREDATOR franchise was a huge hit back in 2022.

Dan Trachtenberg's 2022 sci-fi horror Prey was a huge hit even with no theatrical release, resurrecting the Predator franchise and racking up six Emmy Award nominations, so few were surprised when whisperings of a sequel started to circulate. But will Amber Midthunder return to her role as Comanche hunter Naru? According a new interview with the star, she'd love to.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter earlier today for her recent releases Novocaine and A24's Opus, Midthunder was asked about the possibility of returning to Trachtenberg's Predator universe, to which she responded with “a cheeky smile” and ‘feigning ignorance':

“What are you even talking about? […] I would love to play Naru again. I love Dan. I love [Prey]. I love that world. I would absolutely love to return.”

While a Prey follow-up has been hinted at by Trachtenberg, it's important to note that a potential sequel differs from the upcoming Predator: Badlands, which is a separate standalone entry into the Predator universe starring Elle Fanning.

There's also the second secret Predator project coming from Trachtenberg, which possibly could be a Prey sequel, but is reportedly an animated anthology. Could Midthunder be returning to the world of Prey in 2D form? Whatever the case, it's an exciting development for Predator fans.

Look out for more updates on Prey 2 as we get them.
