Apartment 7A, the Rosemary’s Baby sequel from Relic director Natalie Erika James, gets a brand new creepy trailer today ahead of its September 27 streaming debut on Paramount+.
Set in 1965 New York City, the film tells the story prior to the legendary horror classic Rosemary’s Baby, exploring what happened in the infamous Bramford building before Rosemary moved in. Julia Garner (Ozark, Leigh Whannell’s upcoming Wolf Man) stars as Terry, the young woman who plays a brief – but very important – role in Rosemary’s story in the 1968 horror classic.
A full plot synopsis via Apartment 7A‘s official press release reads as follows:
An ambitious young dancer Terry Gionoffrio (Julia Garner, Ozark) dreams of fame and fortune in New York City, but, after suffering a devastating injury, an older, wealthy couple (Dianne Wiest, I Care a Lot, and Kevin McNally, Pirates of the Caribbean film series) welcomes her into their home in the luxury apartment building the Bramford. When fellow resident and influential Broadway producer (Jim Sturgess, Across the Universe) offers her another chance at fame, it seems that all her dreams are finally coming true. However, after an evening she can’t fully remember, disturbing circumstances soon have her second-guessing the sacrifices she’s willing to make for her career as she realizes that something evil is living not only in Apartment 7A, but in the Bramford itself.
Additional supporting cast includes Marli Siu (Everything I Know About Love), Andrew Buchan (All the Money in the World), Rosy McEwen (Blue Jean) and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith (Wonka).
Apartment 7A, which has been Rated R for “violent content and drug use”, was directed from a screen story by Skylar James and a script by Natalie Erika James, Christian White and Skylar James. The film is executive produced by Vicki Dee Rock and Alexa Ginsburg, and is produced by A Quiet Place‘s John Krasinski, Allyson Seeger, p.g.a, Michael Bay, Andrew Form, p.g.a, and Brad Fuller.
In today's new trailer, we get a glimpse into the creepy going-ons at the Bramford, as well as what looks to be some gloriously twisted dance sequences, and (naturally) a good dose of maternity horror. All in all, we can't wait for this one.
If you’re heading to Fantastic Fest next month you can catch the World Premiere of Apartment 7A in Austin, Texas.
For those outside of the States, Apartment 7A will hit Paramount+ on September 28 in the U.K., France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Australia.
You can read more about Apartment 7A in the upcoming fall issue of FANGORIA.
