Following last month's release of Jason X and Jason Goes to Hell, Arrow is releasing two other entries into a classic slasher franchise with 4K UHD versions of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning.
Marcus Nispel's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, a remake of Tobe Hooper's 1974 original, stars Jessica Biel as final girl Erin Hardesty, with Andrew Bryniarski as the masked maniac Leatherface. Although pretty poorly received upon release, the remake has gone on to garner something of a cult status, especially when reassessing the often unfairly maligned era of 00s horror.
Jonathan Liebesman's prequel, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, stars Jordana Brewster, Diora Baird, Taylor Handley, Matt Bomer and R. Lee Ermey. Although received even more poorly than its predecessor, the film did generate $51.8 million on a budget of $16 million at the global box office. Hooper served as co-producer and producer on both films respectively.
Although both films are available as US and CAN releases, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is not available in the UK.
Special features on both releases read as follows:
