The Poohniverse expands with Jagged Edge Productions and ITN Studios' latest twisted take on a beloved childhood classic, Bambi: The Reckoning, officially galloping into theaters on July 25 via Seismic Releasing.
Directed by Dan Allen and written by Rhys Warrington, Bambi: The Reckoning was produced by Scott Chambers and Rhys-Frake Waterfield (Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey,Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare) through their Jagged Edge Productions banner. Executive producers are Stuart Alson (Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey 1 & 2) and Nicole Holland (Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey 1 & 2).
The creature feature stars Roxanne Mckee (Game of Thrones, Hercules), Tom Mulheron, Nicola Wright (Sexy Beast), Samira Mighty and Alex Cooke.
Loosely based on the character from Disney's 1942 cartoon Bambi (itself based on Felix Staten's 1923 novel Bambi, a Life in the Woods), Bambi: The Reckoning follows:
After a mother and son get in a car wreck, they soon become hunted by Bambi, a mutated grief-stricken deer on a deadly rampage seeking revenge for the death of his mother.
Stuart Alson, President of ITN Studios, comments that they're “excited to bring the first live-action Bambi film ever to the screens,” (suck on that, Disney!) “…of course, a horror version.”
Following Bambi: The Reckoning, the diabolical deer will go on to join Jagged Edge's upcoming Avengers-style crossover Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, where the deer will join Winnie, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, Tigger, Piglet, The Mad Hatter, Sleeping Beauty and more. As a reminder, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey made over $5 million off a budget of just $50,000, so expect the Poohniverse to keep on expanding.
Tickets for Bambi: The Reckoning will go on sale July 10, 2025.
