After literal decades of anticipation, Tim Burton's Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is just around the corner from its September 6 theatrical release, and today brings a fresh new batch of stills to get you even more hyped.

As you may well be aware by now, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (the sequel to Burton's 1988 horror-comedy classic) has a gargantuan ensemble cast of stars both returning and new, with Michael Keaton once again reclaiming his starring role as the titular Ghost with the Most. Winona Ryder is also back as Lydia Deetz, as well as Catherine O’Hara as Delia Deetz.

Joining the returning stars are new additions to the Beetlejuice-verse, including Jenna Ortega, Willem Dafoe, Monica Bellucci, Justin Theroux and Arthur Conti.

In Beetlejuice Beetlejuice:

“After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic, and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened. With trouble brewing in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times, and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.”

The sequel screenplay was penned by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (Wednesday), working from a story by Seth Grahame-Smith (The LEGO Batman Movie).

As we already know from Keaton, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is light on CGI and heavy on the practical effects, just like its puppet-filled predecessor.

Today's new stills, which come to us courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures and Parisa Taghizadeh, give us a good look at some of said glorious practical effects, as well as a detailed look at Dafoe's character Wolf Jackson, and Bellucci who still manages to look just as stunning in undead form.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is set to hit theaters on September 6. For more, get the details on the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice: The Afterlife Experience coming to Los Angeles later this month.
