Here's the list of the best horror movies on Netflix. As a new feature, we will also warn you about some of the best films that will be leaving Netflix this month so you can watch them before they are no longer available or as many times as you would like before they disappear.

Don't be sad, though. For all the films that leave, there are plenty of new films and shows, as well as repertory titles, for you to choose from this month.

The big news is that the seventh season of the critically beloved series Black Mirror has returned for its seventh season. You never know exactly what you will get from this series, but its sharp and incisive satire of our society is pretty scary on its own without any supernatural monsters. Another series, this time animated, is Devil May Cry, an adaptation of a Capcom video game about a demon hunter who is the only thing standing between escaped demons and human beings.

As for repertory films, Alfred Hitchcock's classic tale of terror, Psycho, will be available to stream starting on April 1. If by some chance you have never seen it before, this is a fantastic opportunity to watch it for the first time, and even after 65 years, this black and white masterpiece retains its ability to chill your bones.

  • Insidious: Chapter 2 on April 1

After the Lambert family believes that they have defeated the spirits that have haunted their family, they soon discover that evil is not beaten so easily. Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Lin Shaye, Ty Simpkins, and Barbara Hershey star in this sequel in the franchise, directed by James Wan and written by Leigh Whannell.

Insidious: Chapter 2 is the fourth film in the franchise's timeline, even though it was the second film to be released.

  • Psycho

Alfred Hitchcock's still shocking tale of a secretary on the run for embezzlement takes refuge at a secluded California motel owned by a repressed man and his overbearing mother stars Janet Leigh, Anthony Perkins, Vera Miles, John Gavin, and Martin Balsam.

Based on Robert Bloch's novel, the film was a runaway hit with its chilling murders and frightful score by Bernard Herrmann, which yielded one of the most well-known music cues in cinema history. Anthony Perkin's excellent work as Norman Bates was so stunning it led to international fame for the actor.

  • Devil May Cry on April 3

In this animated adaptation of the popular Capcom game and from Adi Shankar's vision, sinister forces are at work to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck.

Johnny Yong Bosch, Scout Taylor-Compton, and Hoon Lee lend their vocal talents to the adaptation brought to you by Shankar.

This is the third season of the direct sequel to Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous; the Nublar Five crash-land into adventure as they encounter old (and new) friends, face off against even more lethal dinosaur threats, and deal with the fallout of Brooklynn’s stunning rejection. All the while, Brooklynn grapples with inner turmoil as she’s drawn deeper into the Broker’s criminal web of dinosaur trafficking and espionage.

  • The Addams Family on April 9

Director Barry Sonnenfeld's delightfully frightful adaptation of Charles Addams's series of New Yorker cartoons about a gothic family that is the opposite of the white picket fence ideal of the United States. When con artists plan to fleece an eccentric family using an accomplice who claims to be their long-lost uncle, the family must pull together to save their way of life.

Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia, Christopher Lloyd, Christina Ricci, Jimmy Workman, Judith Malina, and Carel Struycken star as the family and their trusty butler, Lurch, in this gold standard of adaptations of the ghoulish source material.

  • Black Mirror (Season 7) on April 10

Netflix has delivered a new season of the acclaimed series Black Mirror. Charlie Brooker's dark, satirical anthology series will return in 2025 with six brand new episodes, including a sequel to the sci-fi adventure USS Callister. With six brand new episodes of the show that promise to mix many different styles and genres, you can anticipate a lot of surprises and spend some time thinking about the show afterward.

Awkwafina, Issa Rae, Paul Giamatti, Billy Magnussen, Tracee Ellis Ross, Peter Capaldi, and Emma Corrin star in this season. Brooker said during Netflix’s annual Geeked Week, “We’ve got six episodes this time, and two of them are basically feature-length. Some of them are deeply unpleasant, some are quite funny, and some are emotional.”

  • Leaving Netflix on April 1: It: Chapter One

You only have until April 1, and what a great choice for a day that is to compare and contrast the performances of Bill Skarsgård as the eternal evil of Pennywise the Dancing Clown versus the undead king vampire, Count Orlok, also known as Nosferatu. It is interesting to do so, especially since Skarsgård has played these two iconic villains in less than a decade.

It never hurts to check out what an actor can do, not only in films where he plays diverse roles that seem very similar. What can the actor do to differentiate their performances to make each performance stand out?

  • Leaving Netflix on April 11: Scream (2022)

Now is the time to catch up on one of the newest Scream films and check out the direction that  Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett had the film series headed before changes came again to the Scream Universe.

Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sonia Ammar, with Marley Shelton, Skeet Ulrich, Roger L. Jackson, Heather Matarazzo, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, and Neve Campbell star in the film as the new additions, including the core four, and the legacy characters that we know and love.

A Quiet Place Part II  is leaving Netflix on April 12, and now is the time to watch it for the first time or watch it again to appreciate the work of the movie's excellent cast. In particular, you may want to pay closer attention to Djimon Hounsou, who is a strong character actor who doesn't get his due as much as he should. He has done great work in this series and in other genre roles in films like Constantine, Deep Rising, and The Vatican Tapes.

  • Leaving Netflix on April 12: Hereditary

Wave goodbye to Ari Aster's first hit film, the chilling Hereditary. There's never a bad time to revisit this supernatural film about a grieving family that also has some severe issues, as Aster's films tend to feature. Hereditary is most famous for its shocking twist but is also known for Toni Collette's raging rebuke to her son at the dinner table. It is possibly the dream of frustrated mothers worldwide who feel like their children aren't listening to them.

Fans still mourn the fact that Collette, who also did acclaimed work as the mother in The Sixth Sense, was not nominated for an Academy Award, and it probably still stings since more horror film actresses have been recognized since then. But her work is still marvelous and that's something that can never be taken away from her or the film.
