Locked, the upcoming horror-thriller starring Bill Skarsgård and Anthony Hopkins, gets a new trailer today ahead of its March 21 release date.
Directed by David Yarovesky (Brightburn) and written by Michael Arlen Ross, Locked is produced by horror legend Sam Raimi.
A remake of the 2019 Argentinian action thriller 4X4 by director Mariano Cohn, Locked follows:
When Eddie (Skarsgård) breaks into a luxury SUV, he steps into a deadly trap set by William (Hopkins), a self-proclaimed vigilante delivering his own brand of twisted justice. With no means of escape, Eddie must fight to survive in a ride where escape is an illusion, survival is a nightmare, and justice shifts into high gear.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, who debuted the trailer exclusively earlier today, Yarovesky talks more about working with the two horror icons:
“Working with Bill and Anthony was a once-in-a-lifetime experience […] They are two of the greatest living actors, each having brought to life some of the most iconic villains of all time. Now, they're going head-to-head in a battle of wits — a fight to the death! Together, they are electric! I'm deeply grateful to both of them, as well as to Sam Raimi, for being such incredible creative partners and for trusting me to steer the ship.”
Locked adds another genre string to Skarsgård's bow, following his turn in last year's Oscar-nominated Nosferatu and the upcoming HBO It prequel series Welcome to Derry. Hopkins brings his signature terrifying charm to the voice of William, with a little sneak peek at some Hannibal Lecter style sadism.
