A Bachelor Party Goes Unexpectedly Feral In BIRDEATER Trailer

The Australian film premieres in theaters in January.

As if the concept of bachelor parties wasn’t already horrifying to begin with (coming from a woman, at least), Dark Sky Films is here to ramp things up a notch. They’ve just dropped the first trailer for Birdeater, a brand new Australian psychological thriller that takes things from just raunchy to straight-up feral.

The film, which hits theaters on January 10, follows a bride-to-be as she joins her fiance’s bachelor party, which of course is being held in the Australian outback, one of the most desolate and remote locations on Earth. (Because parties in horror movies are never held in, say, the back room of a locally-owned restaurant or something.) The festivities, which begin normally, soon turn to “beer-soaked chaos,” and uncomfortable truths and secrets are revealed, as everyone involved descends into insanity.

Directed by Jack Clark and Jim Weir, with a script from Clark, the film also dropped a new poster today, showcasing just how wild things are set to get for lead actress Shabana Azeez. Based on the several reviews on said poster, all of which simply feature the word “feral,” it’s relatively easy to guess where the film will go, and what waits in store for audiences when it finally arrives on domestic screens.

The film, which premiered at the Sydney Film Festival and also screened at this year’s SXSW,  also stars Mackenzie Fearnley, Ben Hunter, Jack Bannister, Clementine Anderson, Alfie Gledhill, Harley Wilson, and Caroline McQuade. Clark and Weir executive produced the film alongside Ben Ferris, Chris Thompson, and Jack Stephens, with producers Stephanie Troost and Ulysses Oliver.

Birdeater premieres in theaters on January 10, 2025. Check out the new trailer and poster below:
