Following the success of last year's Silent Hill 2 remake, Bloober Team and Konami are teaming up again to develop a new game, currently under the code name Project G, per Polish website Bankier.pl and translated by Projekt Parasol (and thanks to Bloody Disgusting for bringing this to our attention.)
The mysterious Project G is based on an existing Konami IP and will be developed for the PC, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series. As we already know, Bloober has expressed an interest in remaking other games in the Silent Hill series, but whether or not Project G marks a return to the nightmarish foggy town remains to be seen.
Announcing the news via press release on their official website, Bloober CEO Piotr Babieno had this to say of the upcoming project:
Our collaboration with KONAMI has been incredibly fruitful, and the success of SILENT HILL 2 speaks for itself. By sharing knowledge and experience, we have been able to create high-quality production together. Of course, we can't reveal too many details at this time, but we are confident that fans will be just as excited about our collaboration as we are. We can't wait to share something truly special with players when the time is right.
With over a million copies sold in its first week alone and overwhelmingly positive critical ratings , Bloober's take on the 2001 psychological horror game Silent Hill 2 was a resounding success, despite initial doubts from fans.
Bloober Team is also currently working with Skybound Entertainment on a new horror title, code-named R, as well as Cronos: The New Dawn.
Keep an eye out for further updates on Project G as they're revealed.
