What would happen if you combined the magic of Evil Dead’s Necronomicon with the sleek, deadly nature of the vampire gang from The Lost Boys? If that’s a question you’ve ever asked yourself, then Screambox’s newest film, Bloodsuckers and the Grimoire, has exactly the answer for you. The new fantasy horror film just dropped a new trailer ahead of its release on the platform, and it’s full of =plenty of blood, guts, and sinister dark magic.
Written and directed by Brian Klewin in his feature debut, Bloodsuckers and the Grimoire stars Siddhartha Rajan, Julia Musolino, Tom Reed, Will Nicholson, and Bobby Izumikawa, with Maegan Rebecca and Rajan serving as producers. The film’s synopsis is as follows:
Oliver always believed his father died when he was three. But now, as college and his soccer career slip into the rearview, the truth surfaces: his dad wasn’t actually dead… until now and he’s left Oliver his cabin in the woods. For Oliver, going there isn’t just about inheritance, it’s about closure. A chance to confront the mystery of the man who vanished and finally move on.
Instead, he finds a sealed trunk in the wall and inside it, a grimoire of dark rituals. When Oliver reads one of the spells aloud, he opens a door that should’ve stayed shut. Now the forest breathes with evil and a vampire lord has risen. As supernatural forces converge and his friends begin to fall under the book’s influence, Oliver must fight to survive and face the truth: the answers he came looking for may destroy him.
“This isn’t just a movie about monsters. It’s about family, legacy, and the danger of digging into the past,” Klewin said. “I wanted to make something that feels like a VHS gem you’d pull off a dusty shelf, but with the emotional force of today’s horror. We’re beyond thrilled to partner with Cineverse and Screambox to unleash Bloodsuckers and the Grimoire to horror fans everywhere. This film is a love letter to the iconic horror classics that shaped me, like The Lost Boys and Evil Dead, with homage to the anime I love like One Piece. It’s wild, it’s fun, and I think fans are going to soak it up and come back for more!”
