With their 2025 slate of films already killing it at the box office, Blumhouse is giving audiences a chance to dive deeper into their horror universe than ever before. They’ve just announced that they’re partnering with Meta Horizon to introduce Blumhouse Horrorverse, an immersive experience that “transports audiences into the heart-pounding world of horror movies from their favorite franchises.”
Releasing on May 22, the Horrorverse is described as a “theme park-like locale set in a dark, foggy forest, with the imposing edifice of the Blumhouse at its center. The woods are the place to roleplay and socialize with your friends and fellow scare addicts, featuring themed activities and elements based on Blumhouse stories as you explore, such as target practice areas based on The Purge franchise, a Wolf Man mini game, and a screening area for exclusive Blumhouse content.”
The immersive experience will feature environments inspired by numerous films from their repertoire, including M3GAN and its upcoming sequel, The Black Phone, Happy Death Day, and more. Fans will also be able to take part in their “Survival Lockdown” game in the titular Blumhouse, which anyone can activate by throwing the world’ lockdown lever into place. Whoever happens to be in the house will be assigned a role — villain or victim — and players must work together in a Dead by Daylight-esque scenario to either survive the nights…or eliminate all survivors.
The new immersive installment is the latest in a long series of horror-themed experiences available on Meta Quest. Other titles featured on the platform currently include franchises like The Exorcist, The Walking Dead, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and Alien, as well as numerous original storylines.
Blumhouse Horrorverse arrives on Meta Horizon on May 22, but fans can RSVP for the world here.
