After virtually no news about the horror comedy for ages, we finally have a small update on Samara Weaving’s upcoming film Borderline. A new poster for the film has been released, showing off the Ready or Not star in her pajamas, clearly over whatever’s plaguing her — which, in this case, is an escaped convict.
Described as a “violently romantic comedy” on the poster, Borderline follows a ‘90s pop star terrorized in her home by a sociopath who’s recently escaped from a mental asylum. Her bodyguard attempts to protect the star and her athlete boyfriend, but as expected, things go to hell in a handbasket fairly quickly.
From “the minds that brought you Cocaine Bear,” according to the poster, Borderline also stars Eric Dane, Alba Baptista, Jimmie Fails, and Ray Nicholson, in the film directed and written by Jimmy Warden, who also penned Cocaine Bear. Warden makes his directorial debut with the film, which is produced by LuckyChap Entertainment’s Tom Ackerley and Josey McNamara, Red A Entertainment’s Hadeel Reda, and Brian Duffield.
Borderline is one of many upcoming projects for Weaving, who recently starred in the silent thriller Azrael, including the sequel to Radio Silence’s hit Ready or Not, as well as an American remake of the Norwegian thriller The Trip, alongside Jason Segel, Juliette Lewis and Timothy Olyphant, which follows a dysfunctional couple who take a supposedly remote romantic getaway to reconnect, only to find out that they each have secret plans to kill each other.
Borderline has not yet set a release date, but you can catch Weaving in Azrael on Shudder now. Check out the new poster below:
