Could Christopher Nolan be following up his Oscar-winning epic Oppenheimer with a horror movie? Well, he's mentioned wanting to before, and according to rumors is apparently set to make that desire a reality.

Details surrounding Nolan's next movie, for which he's reteaming with Universal, are tightly under wraps, but what we do know for sure is that it is set to star Tom Holland and Matt Damon. Another juicy rumor, stemming from Gizmodo, is that the film will be a period piece, specifically set in the 1920s, involving  vampires.

“But wait!” we hear you cry, “doesn't Ryan Coogler also have a 1920s-set vampire movie on the way in Sinners, starring Michael B. Jordan?” To which we say, yes! But, if the rumors surrounding Nolan's next feature do prove to be true, what's to say we can't have both? Maybe we'll have an Immaculate/The First Omen type serendipitous situation on our hands.

While there's no doubt that Nolan has dominated the sci-fi space for years with a number of blockbuster hits including Interstellar, Inception and Tenet, the closest he has ever really come to horror was with 2000's crime thriller Memento

With the rumors swirling, many people have started to wonder what exactly a Christopher Nolan-directed horror movie would look like, and who else would star. After all, Oppenheimer‘s cast was a veritable who's who of Hollywood, with Cillian Murphy joined by Florence Pugh, Robert Downey Jr., Josh Hartnett, Emily Blunt, Jack Quaid, Kenneth Branagh, Tom Conti and FANGORIA favorite David Dastmalchian to name but a small few.

Of course, this is all just speculation, and there is absolutely no concrete proof or confirmation yet that Nolan's vampire piece is real or will ever even be real. But we'll be watching closely…
