The Criterion Channel isn’t playing around this Halloween. With less than twenty-four hours to go before the big day, they’ve released a massive list of horror films currently available on the platform, so you can find a new favorite whether you’re hanging out at home or need something to play during a killer party.

The streamer dedicated exclusively to the best in cinema has several categories dedicated to horror for you to peruse this Halloween, ranging from familiar classics to more obscure gems for even the most seasoned horror lover to discover. Highlights include a collection dedicated to the films of John Carpenter, which features movies like The Fog, Escape from New York, Christine, They Live, In the Mouth of Madness, Vampires, Ghosts of Mars, and Dark Star, as well as a collection of 2000s horror films, including Toolbox Murders, [•REC], Lake Mungo, Stuck, What Lies Beneath, and Triangle

Putting a focus on the grotesque is their body horror collection, which highlights classics like Eyes Without a Face, Eraserhead, The Brood, Altered States, Possession, The Fly, and Shivers. But if you’re too scared to handle ghoulish transformations, there’s also the uniquely strange Nunsploitation category, which features religious horror in the vein of Alucarda, Dark Habits, Benedetta, and Ken Russell’s The Devils

Focusing on more specific horror is their Hong Kong Ghost Stories collections, drawing together the iconic camp of the SAR’s genre cinema with the supernatural for films like Mr. Vampire, Evil Cat, Rouge, and Encounters of the Spooky Kind. Criterion is also celebrating, in addition to the work of genre master Carpenter, the work on French director Jean Rollin with their Scary Sexy collection, which features, Requiem for a Vampire, Lips of Blood, The Grapes of Death, Fascination, The Living Dead Girl, and Lost in New York

Other assorted horror titles available on the streamer for Halloween include Trouble Every Day, The Descent, Ganja & Hess, Daughters of Darkness, and David Cronenberg’s The Shrouds. Special Criterion editions of The Others and Altered States are also available to stream, featuring audio commentaries, deleted scenes, and more.
