Terrifier 3 hasn't even hit theaters yet but director Damien Leone already has plans for a Terrifier 4 and, potentially, even a Terrifier 5.
In a recent interview with GamesRadar+ and Total Film, Leone teased that he knows how Art the Clown's slasher saga will end, and even has specific scenes planned:
“I know the ending, which is most important […] I know certain scenes throughout, and I just started developing the intro to it. So, that's pretty much all these movies start that way. They're like puzzle pieces, and then I need to fill in the gaps.”
The news of Terrifier 4 came during a post-premiere Q&A at last month's Fantastic Fest (with an added extra of Ice Nine Kills' gory Terrifier-themed music video), although Leone admits in the interview that the news was supposed to be a secret before he let it slip.
Leone's next quandry comes with including everything he wants to within one more movie. No spoilers of course, but let's just say Terrifier 3 sets up some more questions for the franchise to answer:
“Now it's a question of, can I fit everything I want to fit before I get to that finale? Can I fit it in one more movie, or is it maybe going to take me two movies before I get there? So, yeah, we'll see, it's a little too premature.”
So while Leone isn't confirming a Terrifier 5 for the books, it seems he also isn't denying it.
Excitingly, Leone also teased GamesRadar+ with an idea he has planned for his post-Terrifier film career:
“There are other opportunities that have come my way as well, things that aren't necessarily hard, but there's a true crime thing that's come across my desk. Really a new direction for me to new playground.”
Leone's hyperviolent third entry into the Terrifier series has already seen pukes, faints and walk outs due to the graphic nature of its opening scene, and being banned in France entirely for viewers under the age of 18.
In Terrifier 3, David Howard Thornton returns as the maniacal Art the Clown. FANGORIA Chainsaw Award-winning final girl Lauren LaVera returns as Sienna, with Samantha Scaffadi as Victoria Heyes and Elliot Fullam also returning as Sienna’s little brother Jonathan.
After surviving Art the Clown's Halloween massacre, Sienna and her brother are struggling to rebuild their shattered lives. As the holiday season approaches, they try to embrace the Christmas spirit and leave the horrors of the past behind. But just when they think they're safe, Art the Clown returns, determined to turn their holiday cheer into a new nightmare. The festive season quickly unravels as Art unleashes his twisted brand of terror, proving that no holiday is safe.
Terrifier 3 hits theaters on October 11. You can find more exclusive Terrifier content in FANGORIA Vol. 2 Issue 25.
