Based on a story by Spielberg with a screenplay from Jurassic Park‘s David Koepp, Disclosure Day stars a powerhouse cast that includes Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Colman Domingo, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson and Wyatt Russell.

An official, nicely mysterious, logline for Disclosure Day reads:

If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We are coming close to … Disclosure Day.

Disclosure Day marks the 37th entry into Spielberg's legendary filmography, one that has cumulatively racked up over $10 billion worldwide. The Hollywood titan has of course dabbled many times in the science-fiction genre before, most notably with 1977's Close Encounters of the Third Kind, 1982's E.T., 2001's A.I. Artificial Intelligence and 2005's War of the Worlds, to name but a few.

Producers on the highly-ancipated sci-fi thriller are five-time Academy Award nominee Kristie Macosko Krieger (The Fabelmans, West Side Story), by Spielberg for Amblin Entertainment, and Adam Somner and Chris Brigham executive producing.

It's been a while since we had a good, high-concept, high-budget UFO thriller – Jordan Peele's Nope probably being the last of note for us horror fans.

Look out for more on Disclosure Day as the mystery continues to reveal itself, and for more, here's all the other horror movies we're excited for still to come in 2026.
