The Boulet Brothers' Dragula Season 666 is underway! The Boulets have once again upped the ante, nobody is safe, and the extermination challenges are even more… challenging? Frightening, grotesque. Week two's challenge was Killer Dolls with guest judges Don Mancini and Jennifer Tilly (how fitting!). Previously, the Boulets shared with me that Mancini was sort of their holy grail guest judge, so it looks like they are already crossing big moments off their bucket list early in the season!
Massive spoilers below, so if you have not watched the second episode yet, beware! You're about to find out the second monster eliminated in season 6. (Catch up on our episode 1 elimination interview here.)
But first, a little breakdown of what's in store for us this season:
“Spine-chilling, extreme physical feats that will push the cast of drag superstars to confront their darkest fears. This 10-episode season is bigger, bloodier, and more brutal than anything that’s come before, featuring expanded “on location” challenges, twisted new themes for the floorshows, cinematic sequences dripping with dread, and innovative drag that will leave viewers gasping.”
SPOILER WARNING:
Auntie Heroine won the floorshow challenge, with her drag daughter Scylla and Desiree Dik placing in the bottom two. Scylla won the first episode's fright feat challenge by finding the scroll of immunity within the walls of the haunted house, but there was no scroll of immunity to be had this time around. Things got heated in the cauldron as Desiree made an impassioned plea, causing Scylla to break out of her comfort zone and get a little loud herself:
“I have the tenacity to be here, I have the drive to be here, I want to be here so fucking bad, and anyone that thinks I don't wanna be here, you're out of your goddamn mind, okay? Just cause I can't get a word in with you doesn't mean I don't feel like I have the fight in me!”
Desiree Dik and Scylla faced off in the extermination challenge, which involved… a shit ton of needles. As someone who is not very squeamish about needles or piercings, this challenge took it to a whole new level, piercing knees to the point where you could see a bit of fat ooze out, and turning the contestants' necks into absolute pin cushions. Yes, I had to look away!
In the end, Scylla went home and Desiree lived to see another week. The newly exterminated Scylla joined us to chat about the experience, believing in yourself when seemingly nobody else does, the surprisingly funniest member of the cast, and more! Watch the full interview below, and new episodes of The Boulet Brothers' Dragula season 6 streaming on Shudder every Monday at 9pm PT/Midnight ET (which I suppose technically makes it Tuesday for our East Coast friends).
