The Texas Chain Saw Massacre‘s 50th anniversary celebrations continue with Dinner With Leatherface, a new Anchor Bay documentary about the man behind the mask, the legendary Gunnar Hansen. Watch our exclusive clip of the doc below.
Dinner With Leatherface is directed by Mike Kallio, and will be making its World Premiere at the upcoming New York City Horror Film Festival, opening the fest on December 5.
Per an official press release:
In Dinner with Leatherface, friends, colleagues, filmmakers and fellow actors share personal stories and discuss the dichotomy between the maniacal chainsaw-wielding character Hansen played on-screen and the very intelligent, creative, soft-spoken man he actually was in real life.
Interviewees include Bruce Campbell, Kane Hodder, Danielle Harris and Linnea Quigley, as well as Hansen’s Chainsaw co-stars Edwin Neal, Teri McMinn and Allen Danziger.
The late, great Hansen made his cinematic debut in Tobe Hooper's The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and went on to star in a number of horror features, including Texas Chainsaw 3D. He also wrote a number of books, including Chain Saw Confidential, an in-depth look at TCM's production, release and reception.
In our exclusive clip below, William Vail – who played opposite Hansen in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre in the role of Kirk – tells a terrifying tale from the set of the iconic film. You can also see a brand new poster below, which puts Hansen front and center among his storied filmography.
If you're headed to New York Horror Film Festival, make sure to catch Dinner With Leatherface on the opening night.
