As Cannes rolls into its second week, the Fantastic Pavilion is blessing us with more horror news from The Séance, You Know Films' first-of-its-kind digital show about the market’s genre film buzz with partnership from FANGORIA and Paramount Scares, with a modern horror hero joining Fantastic Pavilion Producer Alex Noyer and Fantastic Pavilion's Executive Director Pablo Guisa to receive a special recognition today.

This year, Eli Roth has been awarded the Golden Key to the Fantastic Pavilion in acknowledgement of his work, influence and reach in the horror genre (Hostel, Cabin Fever, The Green Inferno and Thanksgiving to name but a few), as well as his work championing filmmakers and bold storytelling.

The Golden Key award comes hot on the heels of Roth's new independent studio The Horror Section, which was formed with the goal of making the kind of independent scary movies that made him famous. Upcoming features from The Horror Section include Roth's recently-announced Ice Cream Man, the Giallo-inspired Final Cut and a German remake of Roth’s 2015 thriller Knock Knock starring Keanu Reeves and Ana de Armas, which Roth will produce.

Watch our exclusive chat with Roth below as he receives the Golden Key from Noyer and Guisa. To keep up to date with all the exciting updates coming from The Séance, make sure you're keeping an eye on and following FANGORIA's socials – Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
