Exclusive: Graphic Novel GHOSTBOX Delivers Supernatural Thrills From THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS’ Mike Carey

Artist Pablo Raimondi (SACRED CREATURES) and colorist José Villarrubia (SWEET TOOTH) bring the tale to life.

Hitting shelves on October 21 from Mad Cave Studios is Ghostbox, an upcoming supernatural thriller from New York Times bestselling author Mike Carey (Lucifer, The Girl With All the Gifts) and celebrated artist Pablo Raimondi (X-Factor, Sacred Creatures), with colors by José Villarrubia (Sweet Tooth, Mirror), and we're excited to bring you all the exclusive details.

Described as “The Sixth Sense meets Gone Girl with razor-edge tension and a deeply emotional core”, Ghostbox centers on two sisters who inherit a strange heirloom which it sets off a haunting chain of events:

Chloe and Jan come into an unexpected inheritance, and it couldn’t come at a better time for Chloe. Desperate for cash, she advertises her late uncle’s possessions online—in particular, a strange little box—and gets a very motivated buyer. But when the deal goes south, Chloe's arrested for murder and Jan disappears.

Carey, whose The Girl With All the Gifts was adapted for screen back in 2016, has this to say of Ghostbox coming to life:

Ghostbox has been a labour of love for me and Pablo […] We've been working up the story for a crazy number of years, and now we've finally found it a home at Comixology and Mad Cave. We've been amazed at the level of support and enthusiasm we've received, and we're overjoyed that our story will now get its print debut.”

Raimondi adds:

Creating Ghostbox with Mike Carey has been an absolute dream come true, and I couldn’t be happier that Mad Cave will be bringing it to print in one beautiful graphic novel […] Both ComiXology and Mad Cave have been a joy to work with, and I can't wait to share the few surprises we’re preparing for this upcoming edition.”
