Meet The HARBINGER In Exclusive Stills Of Fortune-Telling Horror From Shogun Films

James Crow directs the feature from a script by Simon Cluett.

UK indie studio Shogun Films are deep in production on the upcoming 80s inspired horror Harbinger from director James Crow (Nemesis), and we're excited to bring you an exclusive first look today.

Starring Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott (Knightfall), Peter Woodward (Babylon 5) and Gary Webster (Minder), Harbinger was written by Simon Cluett (We Still Kill The Old Way, Age of Kill), from a story by Harry Boxley.

HARBINGER centers on Julia (Sothcott), the sole survivor of infamous Satanic serial killer Henry Decker (Woodward), who is convinced to take part in a TV ghost show filmed at the late Decker’s former home by TV producer Mike (Webster). Once there they uncover an ominous carnival Fortune Telling machine, known as The Harbinger, which dispenses murderous fates, foretold via fatal Tarot cards, as Decker plots a sinister return to life.

Rounding out the cast are Tony Sands (Moondial), Johnny Palmiero (Doctor Plague), Joseph Emms (Knightfall), Anna Arthur (The Last Screenwriter) and Maisie Gee (Through My Eyes).

The Harbinger itself was designed by Stuart Webb, with Andrew Robinson serving as Director of Photography and Robert Geoffrey Hughes and Chris Hurst on score duties.

Here's what Crow has to say of his upcoming feature:

As a horror filmmaker at heart, Harbinger is a wonderful opportunity to craft a truly unique genre movie that can go toe to toe with the best in the international market. With a unique central premise, atmosphere you could cut with a knife and the great cast you’d expect in a Shogun Film I think Harbinger is going to be very special indeed.

Producer Jonathan Sothcott adds:

“I think Harbinger is going to fulfil our brief of making instant cult movies – the creepy fortune telling machine has been brilliantly realised and feels like a modern-day video shop classic: a terrifying encounter with an eerie amusement from yesteryear achieved with practical effects. It’s great to be working with James again, five years on from Nemesis. I very much hope this will be the first in a franchise and it continues Shogun’s journey of making high quality genre films: creating our own IP at the cutting edge of indie production.”

Harbinger is being filmed on location in South East England, with Trinity Creative handling worldwide sales and set to introduce the project to buyers at Cannes.

Executive Producers include Jamie McLeod Ross and Charlie McDougall for Empire Studios and Keith Reilly.
