Prom season is here, and that means Netflix is ramping up for their newest Fear Street film, Prom Queen, which hits the streamer at the end of this month. In honor of the prettiest event of the year (well, aside from the Met Gala), they’ve released new character posters for the teen slasher, highlighting the couples that find themselves up against another in a long line of masked killers.
Styled like vintage Fear Street novels, the posters highlight five couples, giving each a killer “senior superlative” — aka all the things your classmates judged you for that you definitely couldn’t remember by the next spring. Each terrified couple earns their own, including “Most Likely to Fight for Their Lives,” “Most Likely to Die Trying,” “Most Likely to Live Up to Their Screams,” “Most Likely to Dress for Death,” and “Most Likely to Run Wild.”
The latest entry into the Fear Street series, which follows the three films released back to back on Netflix in 2021, is directed by Matt Palmer and based on the R.L. Stine book of the same name. The film’s synopsis is as follows:
Welcome back to Shadyside. In this next installment of the blood-soaked Fear Street franchise, prom season at Shadyside High is underway and the school’s wolfpack of It Girls is busy with its usual sweet and vicious campaigns for the crown. But when a gutsy outsider is unexpectedly nominated to the court, and the other girls start mysteriously disappearing, the class of ’88 is suddenly in for one hell of a prom night.
Fear Street: Prom Queen features a massive ensemble cast, which includes the likes of India Fowler, Suzanna Son, Fina Strazza, Chris Klein, David Iacono, Ella Rubin, Ariana Greenblatt, Lily Taylor, Katherine Waterson, Darrin Baker, Rebecca Ablack, Ilan O’Driscoll, Damian Romeo, Dakota Taylor, Eden Summer Gilmore, Brennan Clost, and Cecilia Lee.
Fear Street: Prom Queen arrives on Netflix on May 23. Check out the new posters below:
