Exclusive: Grimmfest Unveils Poster Art And First Titles For 2025 Edition

Manchester's International Festival of Fantastic Film returns to the Odeon Great Northern from October 9 - 12.

Grimmfest, Manchester's International Festival of Fantastic Film, returns for another year, bringing four high-impact, fear-filled days of genre cinema to the Odeon Great Northern from October 9 – 12 – we've got an exclusive sneak peek at this year's poster art, plus details of two of the first films to be announced from the eclectic lineup.

First on the slate, Grimmfest will host the European Premiere of Dan J. Asma's found-footage nightmare Tribe, which follows a retired university lecturer's investigation into the mysterious death of an old friend leads to time loss, amnesia, chilling conspiracies and cover-ups, and cataclysmic cosmic horrors. With nods to Philip K. Dick and Lovecraft, the Grimmfest team describe Tribe as “gripping, engrossing and creepy as hell.” Scroll on for an exclusive look at Tribe‘s first teaser and poster.

TRIBE (2025)

Next to be revealed from the Grimmfest lineup is LandLord, Remington Smith's sharp, savage, socially-engaged horror that follows a Black female bounty hunter as she takes down racial exploitation and predatory vampires. LandLord deals explicitly with issues of race, class, exploitation and poverty, combining the gritty realism of Andrea Arnold and the genre tropes of John Carpenter in what the Grimmfest team say heralds Smith as a new and exciting voice in genre cinema.

LANDLORD (2025)

In keeping with the theme of otherworldly horror, Grimmfest's regular artist Ilan Sheady returns with a cosmic-horror style poster (seen below), offering a nod to H.P. Lovecraft with a vision of the Grimmfest Reaper as Cthulhu.

Grimmfest's full line-up of features, shorts, guests, and associated events is yet to come, as the team continue to select content for the programme. Passes are now available from Grimmfest's official site, and keep your eyes peeled for further updates.
