Hell House LLC: Lineage, the fifth and apparently final entry into Stephen Cognetti's Hell House franchise, hits theaters this summer via Terror Films Releasing and Iconic Events, with a creepy new teaser revealing the return of that damn clown.
No exact date has been set, but Hell House LLC: Lineage will scare theatrical audiences in August, ahead of its premiere on Shudder in October.
Lineage sees the return of numerous characters from other installments in the franchise, including the Carmichael siblings from Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor, as well as Elizabeth Vermilyea as Vanessa Shephard, the resurrected documentarian from Hell House LLC: Lake of Fire. The film’s logline is as follows:
Haunted by visions and recurring nightmares years after a near-death experience, Vanessa Shepard finds herself living in the town of Abaddon, unable to break free from its unexplainable hold on her. When people around her suddenly and inexplicably begin to die, she soon uncovers her terrifying connection to the Abaddon Hotel, the Carmichael Manor and the mysterious murders that have been occurring for decades, long before Hell House LLC.
What's especially interesting about Hell House LLC: Lineage is that it says goodbye to the found-footage format that the previous four installments in the series utilized to great effect. Cognetti explained his reasoning for this, saying:
This is by far the biggest Hell House of the series, so experiencing it in a theater is definitely the best way to consume the final chapter, […] For the story, scope and scares I wanted to write in Lineage, found footage was going to be too restrictive to make the film that I wanted to make. I set out to make a Hell House movie like you’ve never seen and I promise you won’t be disappointed in the change of format.”
825 Forest Road, Cognetti’s first film outside of the Hell House series, is currently streaming on Shudder.
