After the success of their hit anthology series Slasher, creators Aaron Martin and Ian Carpenter are back with a brand-new bone-chilling series for Shudder. The streamer just premiered the trailer for Hell Motel, an all-new limited series that premieres on the platform in June.

The new trailer follows a group of ten true crime obsessives who check in to the newly renovated Cold River Motel on its reopening weekend, but not because they’re just looking for a weekend getaway. No, they’re all there because of the motel’s history as the site of an unsolved murder connected to the Satanic Panic. But what seems like just another unsolved mystery turns darker when history repeats itself and the guests are stranded, leaving them at the mercy of a brand-new killer, with each kill more gruesome than the last.

“With Hell Motel we take a good look in the mirror as both horror fans and horror creators, delving into the allure of a genre of storytelling as old as drama itself. But as any horror fan who’s ever uttered “Bloody Mary” three times into a mirror knows, you’ve got to be careful what you wish for…,” Martin and Carpenter said in a statement.

The series stars Will & Grace icon Eric McCormack as Hemmingway, a chef with more than just knife skills, as well as fellow guests Paula Brancati as a former scream queen, Shaun Benson as a new-age medium, Atticus Mitchell as a true crime writer who survived a mass killing, Emmanuel Kabongo as an artist with a strange fixation on murder, Jim Watson as an academic with a similar fascination, and Genevieve DeGraves as a hybristophilic flight attendant. The series also guest stars Icesis Couture of Canada’s Drag Race fame, and Brynn Godenir and Michelle Nolden as the motel’s owners.

“When Aaron Martin and Ian Carpenter reached out to tell me they had crafted another irredeemable a-hole for me, my response was, ‘where do I sign?’” said McCormack. “If you loved hating Basil Garvey, prepare to feel an instant disdain for Hemmingway.”

Hell Motel’s two episode premiere airs on June 17 on Shudder and AMC+, with new episodes premiering on Tuesdays. Check out the new trailer below:
