Clive Barker’s legendary tale of sadism and sex hit the world forty years ago with the publication of The Hellbound Heart, the novella that would inspire the cult classic Hellraiser, and Boom Studios is celebrating the anniversary in style. The comics publisher just announced that they’ve acquired the comics rights to the Hellraiser franchise, and are prepared to bring even more terror and torment to the world with new stories set in Barker’s unhinged universe.
No details have been announced yet, but Boom will be publishing several all-new Hellraiser stories in 2026, as well as a special new Direct Reserve Campaign, collecting the entire out-of-print run of their 2011 Hellraiser series.
“I’m delighted to be partnering with BOOM! once again to create comics and graphic novels that will introduce both wild new projects, in addition to creating radical new visions of the kind of dark mythologies I’ve always been known for,” Barker said. “There are a lot of doors waiting to be opened, and worlds of weird fantasy and horror waiting on the other side.”

Hellraiser: Leviathan’s Vault will collect the entire classic Boom Studios run of Hellraiser comics, as well as an all-new, curated volume of Hellraiser stories from when Marvel owned its publishing rights. The entire release will see the stories published in hardcover for the first time ever, with more details to follow.
“We had a hell of a run when we first published Hellraiser comics back in 2011,” said Bryce Carlson, Boom’s Deputy Publisher. “That content is long out of print and hard to come by but we’re reopening the Lament Configuration 15 years later and unleashing hell once again for all the incredibly patient fans out there.”
But that isn’t the only Hellraiser content coming our way this year. Boss Team Games is also releasing Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, a new video game drawing players into the torment of Pinhead and the cenobites as they play as Aidan, a young man determined to save the love of his life from the evils of the new Genesis Configuration.
