NEON has unveiled the witchy first teaser for Hokum, the upcoming supernatural horror from director Damian McCarthy (Caveat, Oddity) hitting theaters on May 1, 2026.

Starring Adam Scott (Severance), Hokum follows novelist Ohm Bauman, who retreats to a remote Irish inn to scatter his parents’ ashes but the staff’s tales of an ancient witch haunting the honeymoon suite take hold of his mind. Soon, disturbing visions and a shocking disappearance draw him into a nightmarish confrontation with the darkest corners of his past.

Peter Coonan (Bad Sisters) and David Wilmot (Bodkin) also star, with Florence Ordesh, Will O’Connell, and Michael Patric. Siox C, Brendan Conroy, Austin Amelio, and Ezra Carlisle rounding out the cast.

Cweature Features serve as co-producers on Hokum joining Image Nation (Late Night with the Devil) and Spooky Pictures (Barbarian), as well as Team Thrives, who co-financed the project. Also behind the scenes producing are Tailored Film’s Ruth Treacy, Julianne Forde and Mairtín de Barra (The Apprentice). Ben Ross (Late Night With the Devil), Dan Kagan (Longlegs), Rami Yasin (Late Night With the Devil) and Andrew Childs (Boy Kills World) will serve as executive producers.

If Hokum is anywhere near as scary as Caveat or Oddity, we're in for a real treat of terror next year, and this trailer alone is giving us the creeps. Also, are we wrong, but is that horrific bunny-masked… thing hinting at a McCarthy Extended Universe, referencing the drumming rabbit toy of his previous features? Hmm. Check out the trailer for Hokum below, and for more, here's all the monster movies we're looking forward to in 2026.
